Eighty-three square metres beneath a vaulted timber ceiling: a stone hearth, a table for ten, and windows that turn the winter into a living painting.

Gather around the island, light the candles and let the evening unfold slowly — the snow just beyond the glass.

Low light, heavy linen, absolute quiet. Sleep the way the North sleeps.

A freestanding tub before floor-to-ceiling glass. Snow falls outside. You have nowhere to be.
Private destination.
Far from mass tourism.

Up to ten guests, as a single party. AIKA is never shared: the handcrafted log residence — five bathrooms, an 83 m² great room beneath a vaulted timber ceiling, a panoramic sauna, a smoke sauna and a hot tub — is yours alone for the length of your stay.
AIKA opens for its first season at Christmas 2026. The first winter is intentionally limited, and dates are offered by enquiry, one party at a time.
From late August to early April, whenever the sky is dark and clear. At 69° N, AIKA lies beneath the auroral oval, where the northern lights appear on most clear nights — far from the glow of any town. During the polar night, from late November to mid-January, the sun stays below the horizon and the aurora can rise early in the evening; the clear, cold skies of February and March are a favourite too. Activity usually peaks between about 9 pm and 2 am, and aurora hunting with a private guide can be arranged for your party.
There is no published rate. Every stay at AIKA is tailored to your party, so pricing is shared privately when you request access.
Days are shaped around you: aurora hunting, husky safaris through silent forest, reindeer and sleigh rides with local herders, a king crab expedition to the Arctic Ocean and ice fishing in the rose light of the polar noon — followed by the panoramic and smoke saunas, the hot tub and long evenings by the hearth. Every journey is arranged for your party alone, with guides who know this land by heart.
Finland has been named the happiest country in the world for nine consecutive years in the World Happiness Report, and Lapland is where that quiet contentment feels most tangible: clean Arctic air, pristine nature reserves, the blue light of the polar night in winter and the midnight sun in summer.
